Death Note, and F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate

Yesterday was the first time watching the movie Death Note for me because I missed the first 2 Death Note movies. I thought I was gonna have a hard time understanding what the hell was going on but thanks to Tae Hyung e hyung, I understood the story line perfectly. His brief 3 minute summary of the first 2 movies told me all the points I needed to know to understand the third movie.

So the movie kicked start and I finally got to see the actor who was acting as "L". My first impression of him was "Wow, I think he'll be unbeatable in a fight". Besides that, L seemed like a dark character who didn't give a shit about anyone else. Thought he was a selfish SOB who uses the Death Note to kill whoever he wanted haha. He turned out to be a completely different character from what I expected. In the end he was still dark/emo but cool at the same time (Well most guys are like that. Right? XD). He had a big heart and was very caring although he didn't really show it to his peers (Maybe because of his looks...).

Enough about L. In the movie, I didn't like it when L burned the Death Note after writing his name in it. With the Death Note, he could have just killed all 5 bad guys at the same time. My friends were right. It was a "L movie" NOT "Death Note" since the death note only appeared in the movie for like 5 minutes... I hated the reason behind why the "bad guys" wanted to spread the disease. It was seriously a "what the fuck?" scene during the movie. I literally said it out loud for everyone to hear. They wanted to what? Build a new ecosystem? What the fuck? Seriously. What a lame reason.

Alright besides the retarded/fucked up reason, the movie was funny overall. Of course with Tae Hyung e hyung, every movie becomes funny XD. I spotted quite a lot of mistakes during, and I mean DURING the movie. One scene, when the girl (Maki) was getting the injection, the needle didn't even go close to her skin nor her arm. The other scene was when the crazy bitch (one of the bad guys) stabbed one of the scientists on their way to the lab. The knife CLEARLY struck the person's left shoulder BUT the dude had blood stains on his heart. I'm not saying the movie's a failure because of the mistakes. I'm just saying its funny XD. Speaking of the Maki girl, in the movie, she was freaky. Especially because she reminded all of us of Alma in F.E.A.R.. "The 9 year old girl in red dress".

So thats the movie. It was okay (except the reasons to spread the virus) so go watch! I REALLY wanted L to fight physically though. Like jump around, kick, punch etc. Oh well.

Moving on to the next topic. As you all know, my older brother Tae Hyung e hyung bought me all 3 F.E.A.R. games for my birthday. I've completed the original and the first expansion pack. Second expansion pack now is being a major pain in the ass. The second expansion pack is mostly during the events of the first expansion pack, Extraction Point. The explosion have allowed all the "creatures from the dark" to come out to Earth and wreck havok. If I played Perseus Mandate without any F.E.A.R. background, then I would have had a heart attack. Thanks to F.E.A.R. and Extraction Point, I can now face spirits with no problem at all. Alma however, is still a threat. Fettel (Alma's second son/second prototype) is still at large and is after me. I lost my teammate, Lieutanent Chen. It was kinda sad to see him die like that even though it was just a game. He later appeared right behind me as a zombie looking spirit and scared the hell out of me though.

After I finish Perseus Mandate, I'll probably write a summary of the storyline in F.E.A.R..
P.S. the quote "The dead stay dead..." from F.E.A.R. = BULLSHIT! Haha.

F.E.A.R. Extraction Point, and New house...

I nearly had a heart attack yesterday when I was plaing Extraction Point...
...
Nah I'm exaggerating. I just got really freaked out.
I encountered 4 hellish freaky moments yesterday when I was playing Extraction Point...
First was when Alma (bad) appeared right infront of me all of a sudden when I was going down the subway station...
Second was in the room covered FULLY in blood when those "things" came out of no where and scared the hell out of me. They were like invisible and only appeared for a brief moment when they were assaulting me/biting me/clawing me or whatever they were doing.
Third was the crawl-space I had to go into... I met a dead end and was planning to go back the way I came from when Alma [good (I think)] crawled out. That part wasn't the freaky scene. It was when I realised that I was in a completely different crawl-space that really freaked me out. Whenever I took a turn, the entire place just changes. I felt like a rat in a maze and the bad Alma as the hungry rat-eater in the maze or something.
Fourth scene was the REAL scary one. Good thing I had a preview of the scene when I checked out Youtube. Shouldn't have though. The video was titled "Scariest scene in FEAR Extraction Point". In this scene, you have to climb up a ladder. Now in F.E.A.R., you can't crawl up the ladder like how you do in Counter Strike or in any of the Valve games. You have to actually holster your weapon and then crawl up. Very realistic. So I was crawling up the ladder, when I receive a signal from "Unknown origin". Straight after that, Alma sticks her head out from this freaking hole behind the ladder and reaches out at me. I already knew this was about to happen since I saw the video BUT I was still scared shitless. Alma is amazingly freaky even though she's naked and is a 15 year old girl (in her actual self). Her movements reminds me of how the mom in Ju-On moves.
So those were my near death moments in Extraction Point. Now on to the "hell yeah, bring it on!" scenes.
First scene was when the good Alma (the one in the red dress), suddenly appeared like 5 meters infront of me in the subway tracks and then eliminated the Replica Soldiers (my enemies) infront of me. Before she appeared, I had 50 health and no armor. So she actually saved my life there. Before the good Alma disappeared, she whispered "You're safe now...". Now this quote gave me strength to carry on to the ladder scene. I actually had a ghost watching my back!
Even after this scene, she kept on appearing at random times saying "Hurry" and stuff. Jankowsky, who was my FEAR team partner who died, also appeared. It was a kick-ass feeling.

That was all yesterday though... Right now, I'm in the "Auburn Memorial HOSPITAL", standing right infront of the "Maternity Ward"... I couldn't get myself to continue when I saw those words... I hate it when I hear like a baby crying in the middle of the night... I guess there is something I'm really scared of XD. Tomorrow MORNING, I'll TRY to make my way through the Maternity Ward...

Enough about FEAR Extraction Point.
As you all know, I moved to a HDB on Monday... My first day was hell because of the noisy cats outside the HDB blocks. They sounded like they were either mating or fighting... The shower's a killer too. I can't shower in near-boiling water anymore like I used to in Signature Park... The water is freaking cold... Sigh... Guess I'll have to adapt to the freezing cold water...
Well to tell the truth, my HDB unit looks WAY larger than Signature Park. My room is like twice the size as compared to the room I had in Signature Park. I can walk to school too if I feel like exercising. I usually take the bus though because I'm lazy. It takes less than a minute... Bus rides became boring because of the lack of time I spend on the bus haha =P. Anyways, other than the cats outside "meow-ing" at 3am every morning, my house is okay.

I miss Signature Park so much though... Maybe her too... T_T

Jumper, F.E.A.R., Resident Evil 4, and Gerlaine's birthday party

I've always fantasized about havig this power to "teleport" or in this case, "jump" around where ever you see. The hell, I even tried to "jump" around when I was young. When I saw Jumper, I was reminded of my childhood days. The movie was awesome. Hayden Christensen's character, David, was this "Jumper" who "jumped" into the bank vault to get freaking rich over night. His character still reminded me of Anakin Skywalker. Cocky, arrogant, bold, brave, never in control of the situation and freaking strong haha. I didn't like Samuel L. Jackson's character though. He didn't act anything like Mace Windu this time. I won't give spoilers though. Anyways, its a movie worth your time and money so go and watch!

After the movie, Tae Hyung e hyung and Sae Hyung bought me my "birthday gift" haha. I felt a little guilty accepting it though since my birthday was over almost a month ago. I'll consider it as my lunar bithday gift then haha. Lunar 01/01 is my birthday which is not so far back. So they got me F.E.A.R. (First Encounter Assault Recon) which is a freaking scary game. I've managed to beat the game in total of 6 hours. Beat the game just today haha. There were a lot of "near heart attack" moments for me in game... Alma wasn't the little girl in red... It was just the memory the 1st prototype (which is the character I control) has of her... Her actual self was... Oh my God freaky... Alma looked JUST like the mom in Ju-on... Her crawling was super fast... Besides Alma, there was Paxton Fettel I had to hunt... Paxton Fettel is the 2nd prototype. The 1st and the 2nd prototypes were Alma's children... Paxton Fettel had this telepathic link with all the clone soldiers. The AI of the soldiers were damn realistic... They side stepped like a freaking pro counter-strike player. Good thing it was in easy mode... Or else, I would have freaking died at the beggining. One advantage I had over them was the "slow-mo" mode. Basically, I go in super speed so all the enemies seem to move damn slow. Now I know what the director dude meant by "The best way of killing horror is to explaine it". When I found out that the 2 prototypes were Alma's children and when I found out Alma's last name, I understood everything and wasn't really afraid anymore. At first I couldn't understand why Alma wasn't killing me or why she was haunting me with her memories... In the end, I manage to escape on the helo (helicopter) BUT Alma crawled up the helo and crashed it. Now, I'm starting on F.E.A.R. Extraction Point... Alma's prescence is always near this time... LOTS of blinking lights... Anyways, THANK YOU TAE HYUNG E HYUNG AND SAE HYUNG FOR THE KICK-ASS BIRTHDAY GIFT!! =D.

Hmm besides F.E.A.R., I also got Resident Evil 4 computer version from Shainaz. Resident Evil 4 was freaky as well but I enjoyed controlling my favourite RE character, Leon Scott Kennedy. Thats why I was so disappointed when I found out that Leon and Ada didn't come out during the Resident Evil: Extinction... Since Albert Wesker came out, Leon and Ada MUST too haha. Anyways, I beat the game in 2 days. Salarzar and Saddler were giving me hell. I'm beating the game for the second time now to unlock the different costumes for Leon and Ashley. Since I got my hands on the infinite rocket launcher, it'll only be a matter of time for me to beat the game again.

Moving on to the next topic, yesterday, 15th Febuary 2008, was Gerlaine's birthday party at Settlers near Clarke Quay station. Her actual birthday is on the 22nd Febuary but she celebrated early. It was a hell of a party. I met new friends too like Yurica*, Hui Min, Cassey, and many more. I was one of the first to reach the place on time so we played this board game. Rayson and I were going crazy. If only Gerlaine joined us... She was too busy directing people to the right place. I, being the sharp one, managed to find the place myself haha XD. Took a lot of photos there. The dress code was those Indian clothings which I didn't have... I just realised that I don't have that much Indian friends who actually HAVE Indian clothings. The only one I knew was Siva. He lent his to Shao though. We took a lot of pictures there and I realised that Shao can be a very good photographer. He knows where to go to get the right angles and stuff haha *cough cough* =P. Anyways, I had a fun time there XD. Hope Gerlaine did too haha. Thanks again Gerlaine for inviting me! XD.
