My 19th birthday, Valentines Day
January 27th 2009 was my 19th birthday. It was Chinese New Year too so I didn't really expect my friends to remember haha. Well, at least for my Chinese friends. Zai was the first to wish me through SMS =). I never really got to thank everyone who wished me, so here's a super belated THANK YOU to everyone who did wish me =).
My birthday itself wasn't that great because all the shops and all were closed because of CNY. In fact, I don't even remember what I did on Jan 27th XD.
Jan 28 was the day where all the "surprises" were haha. I knew about the "cake ceremony" my classmates planned because Jon's phone was fucked up and he sent me the plan for the "surprise party" haha. I almost thought he did it on purpose. So, I had my face smashed in the cake again. I had to lick this toy, which was covered in cake, clean and etc.
After having band (nothing special happened in band that day), I went out to meet all 3 of my brothers to go watch Inkheart. It was like to celebrate my birthday too.
Oh not forgetting the presents I got =). My classmates (I think only my brothers in class though) got me Left 4 Dead, the game I wanted to get so badly XD. I was super happy when I saw the packaging haha. Tae Hyung e hyung and Sae Hyung got me Red Alert 3, the game I wanted as well but never made it to my wish-list haha. Thanks so much!! =)
I'm like playing those 2 games like some hardcore game addict. Only on weekends so don't worry =P.
Moving on. Yesterday was Valentines day. Usually Valentines day is one of the saddest days for me because I always don't get a date (except for my 17th Valentines day XD). This time around, it was special too because I went out with my secondary school classmate, Mei Hui!! XD. I went out with her on my 17th Valentines day too. She's the only one who went out with me during Valentines day.
So, I was kinda nervous and all, thinking of nice greetings waiting for her to come. When she did, my mind went blank again haha. It always does!! Like wtf?!... Can't believe she actually recognized me haha. We didn't see each other for like 2 years!! Haha Mei Hui certainly got prettier =). Maybe thats why my mind blanked out XD.
We met at Jurong Point and the place was seriously swarming with people, couples more like. Mei Hui was super hungry when we met, so we decided to grab something to eat first BUT everywhere we went, it was full and the waiting time was like 45 minutes!! WTF. We had to settle for KFC-take-away and eat at a nearby playground HAHA!! It was memorable though so I liked it =). We had lots to catch up on so we talked about like our school life, and much more personal stuff. I think it was the first time telling a girl about myself in detail haha.
After the under-the-night-sky dinner, we went for the movie New In Town. I thought I wasted my money on such a bad movie at first. The movie turned out to be awesome haha. Romance and comedy, always a nice combi. I'm pretty sure we both enjoyed the movie to the max haha.
After the movie we went out for a late-night drink near our place. Didn't want her getting drunk so bought the cheap 8% Vodka instead of the 45% one haha. Mei Hui's a light drinker unlike me (hardcore XP). While drinking we talked nonstop about our secondary school life, how we're doing now etc. After drinking the 8% Vodka, I think MH was feeling a little tipsy already HAHA!! I didn't feel anything =(. Walked her to her place then I walked like 2km back to my place, reaching home around 1am. It was definately a special, and memorable Valentines day XD.
Now I have someone whom I can call anytime to have light drinks with =). Or talk my heart out to when I need someone to talk to.

P.S. I just realised I never got a chocolate from MH!! =S.
